Scope
CIT has macOS and Windows laptops available that run the latest operating systems to be used as temporary loaner computers for faculty, staff, and special events.
Policy
Faculty and staff are eligible for loaner laptops. These laptops are also available for faculty & staff sponsored events.
The laptops have basic software installed:
- Antivirus Protection
- Microsoft Office, the latest version
- Virtual Lab connection software
- Virtual Private Networking
- Web browsers - including Firefox, Internet Explorer, and Safari
All work created on one of our loaners should be transferred before returning it to CIT. User accounts will be deleted from the laptop when returned. Customers should not expect to retrieve data from the laptops once they are returned.
If your regular College-owned computer is going to be in for repairs for longer than 48 hours, CIT will offer a loaner for your use. Laptop requests for a special event may be made via our online Service Desk.
An Off Campus use form will be required to use any loaner laptop; you will be provided with the appropriate form.
