Malaysian women redefine gender roles in technology

“In the U.S., technology and masculinity are very connected, which is not the case in Malaysia."

What would Thoreau have to say about this given his apparent opinions on gender roles?

I don't know what strikes me more: the fact that women in the U.S. are less likely to hold a job in computer sciences because it is considered a masculine field, or that Malaysian women are dominating computer science employment opportunities because men don't want the jobs so the women get what's left over.

Either way, I think the face that women are excelling is great, and considering that technology is, according to many, the key to the future, these Malaysian women have the opportunity to be a part of that!
