For Computers 

All computers purchased via a CIT created quote will come with at minimum a 1 Year warranty.

Any expenses incurred for repair after the warranty has expired, but is not accidental damage, will be covered by CIT. Expenses incurred for accidentally damaged equipment will be charged to the department.
Academic Affairs Department Purchase

1 Year (Laptop)

3 Year (Desktop)

Departmentally purchased computers will have 1 year warranty as a base. Departments can optionally increase the warranty length when requesting a quote. Any expenses incurred for repair after the warranty has expired, but is not accidental damage, will be covered by CIT. Expenses incurred for accidentally damaged equipment will be charged to the department.

Non Academic Affairs Department Purchase

1 Year (Laptop)

3 Year (Desktop)

Departmentally purchased computers will have 1 year warranty as a base. Departments can optionally increase the warranty length when requesting a quote. Any expenses incurred for non-warranty repair or for repair after the warranty has expired will be charged to the department.
Computer Labs (Tech Fee)

3 Year (Desktop)

1 Year (Laptop)

Desktop computers purchased for labs with Student Technology Fee funds will have a 3 year warranty. Laptop computers purchased for labs will have a 1 year warranty. Any expenses incurred for non-warranty repair or after the warranty has expired will be charged to CIT.
Financial Aid Loaner (Laptop)1 Year or 3 Year (depending on purchase date)Laptops purchased under the Financial Aid Loner program will come with a 1 or 3 year warranty. Students are responsible for repairs not covered by the warranty.


For Accessories

Computer accessories, including but not limited to, such as: docks, dongles, external hard drives, keyboards, and mice usually have a limited warranty term of 90 days from date of purchase. In some instances, accessories provided by CIT may have a longer warranty term.
