This software does require a Virtual Private Networking (VPN) to function

Steps for macOS

  1. Download Minitab.v19.1.0.0.Commercial from software.geneseo.edu
  2. Once the package finishes downloading, navigate to your downloads folder and open Minitab.v19.1.0.0.Commercial.
  3. Click Continue twice and click Agree.
  4. Click Continue to activate with a license.
  5. Select the radio button that says License Server. In the box underneath enter minitablic.geneseo.edu, then click Continue.
  6. Click Install (you may be prompted for your administrator password).
  7. The installation will run. Open Minitab from your Applications folder or Launchpad.
  8. You may be prompted to register the application, if so, enter your Email Address, First and Last Name, the click Register Now.

Steps for Windows

  1. Download minitab19.1.0.1setup.x64.exe from software.geneseo.edu
  2. Once the file finishes downloading, navigate to your downloads folder and double click on minitab19.1.0.1setup.x64
  3. Select a language and click Next.

  4. Click “Next”, accept the license agreement, then click “Next” again.

  5. Select "Multi-user license with a license server or file", then click "Next".
  6. In the License Server field type, minitablic.geneseo.edu
  7. Click Next.
  8. Click Next.

  9. Click “Install” to begin the installation. It should only take a few moments to complete. Click Finish once complete.


    1. You may be prompted to restart your computer to finish installation. Be sure to save your work before doing so.
  10. Double-click the Minitab icon on your desktop to open the application.
  11. You may be prompted to register the application, if so, enter your Email Address, First and Last Name, then click OK. You may also choose to Proceed without Registering.

Notes

  1. Minitab will only be able to connect the license server if you have a working campus internet connection. If you are located off-campus, you must establish a VPN connection in order for Minitab to launch.
  2. Minitab is not available on the Chromebook platform, if you need access from one of those devices please try using the Geneseo Virtual Computer Lab
