Self Help - Maple Installation Guide

Maple is the essential technical computing software for today's engineers, mathematicians, and scientists. Whether you need to do quick calculations, develop design sheets, teach fundamental concepts or produce sophisticated high-fidelity simulation models, Maple's world-leading computation engine offers the breadth and depth to handle every type of mathematics.

How to install Maple 2016:

PC:

1. Download the software from software.geneseo.edu

2. Double-click the downloaded file to begin the install process, then click “Next"

3. Accept the license agreement, then click “Next”

4. Click “Next” to accept the default installation directory

5. Choose whether or not you’d like a desktop shortcut, then click “Next”

6. Make sure “Single User License” is chosen, then click “Next”

7. Make sure the third checkbox, for “Use proxy server when checking for updates,” is NOT checked (the top two should remain checked), then click “Next”

8. If the Update Check Tool finds an update click “OK,” then click “Next”

9. Click “Next” to run the installer

10. Once the install is complete, ensure the “Active Maple 2015 now” box is checked, then click “Finish”

11. On the next screen, enter UKZ7NJZESUPQV6YF for the purchase code, then click “Next"

12. Fill in the red fields (name, email address, country, institution) and click “Next”

13. You’ll then see a pop-up confirming successful activation. Click “OK” to finish the install process

Note: the first time you open Maple 2016, you may see a notice about the time-activated license expiring at a future date. Click “OK”; you will only see this message one time.

Mac:

1. Download the software from software.geneseo.edu

2. Open the .dmg, then double-click "Maple2016.1MacInstaller" (enter administrator password if prompted)

3. Click "Next" to progress the installation, then accept the license agreement and click "Next" again

4. Click "Next" to accept the default install path (/Applications/Maple 2016)

5. Click the "Single User License" button, then click "Next"

6. Click "Next" and wait for update check; then click "Next" to begin installation

7. After installation, make sure "Activate Maple 2016 now" box is checked, then click "Finish"

8. When prompted for a purchase code, enter UKZ7NJZESUPQV6YF, then click "Next"

9. Fill out activation form (red fields are required), then click "Next" to finish activation

Note: the first time you open Maple 2015, you’ll see a notice about the time-activated license expiring at a future date. Click “OK”; you will only see this message one time.
