Steps to configure the Geneseo VPN on a phone running the Android operating system

VPN will not work while connected to the "Geneseo Guest" wireless network.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Launch the Play Store on your device and search for AnyConnect and install the app
    1. Alternatively click on this link
  2. When the download is complete click Open or launch the AnyConnect app on your device
  3. You may be prompted to accept an EULA, if so read it and then click OK
  4. On the main screen select Connections
  5. Select Add New VPN Connection
  6. Select Description and enter Geneseo VPN then click OK
  7. Select Server Address and enter asa.geneseo.edu then click OK
  8. Click Done
  9. Select Geneseo VPN
  10. Click to toggle AnyConnect VPN to ON
  11. In the window that open up, enter in your Geneseo Username then in the next field enter in your Geneseo Password
    1. Optionally you may check the box Show password to ensure your password is typed correctly
  12. Click Connect
  13. If the connection worked you should see On highlighted in blue and a Key icon in the status bar
  14. Now that you are connected, leave the AnyConnect app open in the background
  15. You may now navigate to any resources that required the VPN
  16. To Disconnect, perform one of the following actions
    1. Open the AnyConnect app and click to toggle AnyConnect VPN to Off
    2. Select the Key icon in the status bar and click the option to Disconnect
