This is the SUNY Geneseo policy and procedures on cellular phones. This policy applies to all persons and departments that have been determined to need a cellular phone for business purposes.
In October 2007, Geneseo established a cellular phone policy that requires ownership and responsibility of a cellular phone and service plan to reside with the employee. Employees will receive a monthly allowance through the state payroll system for as long as the employee's job responsibilities require cellular phone service. Department and Divisional VP approval is required. Departments cannot provide cellular phones for individuals, but may acquire college-owned cellular phones for department use.
