Service Availability

CIT will be minimally staffed over the holidays. Our main office is closed on Wednesday, December 25th, Thursday, December 26th and Wednesday, January 1st. The CIT HelpDesk will be closing at 4 p.m. on Monday, December 23rd and reopening on Friday, December 27th at 8 a.m. The HelpDesk will also be closed on January 1.  Our TSP support will also be minimal. Emergencies can be reported to the CIT Office (585-245-5577). 

On Friday, December 27, CIT will be performing upgrades to several systems:
  • Our Voice-over-IP telephone servers will be upgraded.  VoIP telephones (the black Cisco phones) will reboot themselves one or two times during the day.
  • Our wireless network will be upgraded.  Wireless access may be unavailable for up to 20 minutes as access points reboot with upgraded software.
  • Our Voicemail server is being moved into the campus virtual network to allow for improved disaster recovery flexibility.  This migration should be transparent.
  • The capacity of the interconnection between the campus data network and the server network will be upgraded.  This increase should be transparent.
