Committee Update

As of 2019, the Academic Program Assessment Committee consists of the following members:  

  • Associate Provost for Assessment and Curriculum, Chair
  • School of Education's Assessment Coordinator
  • School of Business's Assessment Coordinator
  • Assessment Coordinator representing the Humanities and Fine Arts
  • Assessment Coordinator representing the Natural Sciences
  • Assessment Coordinator representing the Social Sciences

Coordinators representing curricular areas should report the concerns of their fellow assessment coordinators and inform them of all college and committee assessment initiatives.  

APAC sets the assessment calendar for the academic year, reminds departments of their assessment duties, assists departments with their assessment projects, and reviews program assessment reports.

Meetings are the 4th Thursday in the month, in Erwin 206

Early Fall 

  • individual meetings between program assessment coordinators and Melanie Blood
  • In online discussion, fill seats on APAC, ensure all coordinators can upload files to own Wiki spaces and see others'

Late Fall  October 24, 4 PM; November 21, 4 PM in Erwin 206

  • Assess departmental assessment data submitted by Sept 30 from 2018-19 school year (rubric below), reviewing Communication and English.
  • Review findings from individual meetings
  • Prepare for middle states assessment data collection; work with faculty to update learning outcomes on syllabi to support PLO's and Gen Ed LO's

Early Spring

  • Assess departmental assessment data submitted by Sept 30 from 2018-19 school year (rubric below), finishing English and reviewing Mathematics
  • Assess departmental assessment data submitted by Sept 30 from 2018-19 school year (rubric below), reviewing School of Education and School of Business 

Late Spring

  • Assess departmental assessment data submitted by Sept 30 from 2018-19 school year (rubric below), reviewing Music and Geography
  • Consider new technology solutions: assessment in Canvas, using Nuventive to report results
