*Please note: Students must get their resume critiqued by Career Design prior to this deadline with no exceptions. Students who do not meet with Career Design before this final resume submission deadline on May 19 will be required to complete an alternate assignment and will not have the opportunity to receive feedback on their resume from a career coach.

1 As part of the student teaching application process, you will be required to work with Career Design to create/update your resume.

2. Please review the following resources compiled by Career Design in detail and create/update your resume accordingly.

By using these resources to create/update your resume initially, it will allow Career Design staff to use your group resume critique session to provide more in depth suggestions and help you take your resume from good to great!

3. You must submit your draft resume to Career Design by Monday, February 20 at 4:30 p.m. via https://forms.gle/aremXwedNuoJXijK6 to participate in the required group resume critique process.

4. Group resume critique sessions will be held virtually via Microsoft Teams on a weekly basis from Monday, February 27 – Monday, May 8.

5. Once you have submitted your resume draft, instructions for how to sign up for a group resume critique session will be shared. Look for an email by Friday, February 24.

6. Should you have questions as you prepare your resume draft in advance of the February 20 submission date, please reach out to Heather Morens (morens@geneseo.edu) or come to Career Design Quick Chats (Virtual Drop-Ins.) To attend a Quick Chat, visit the Career Design Events Calendar (https://www.geneseo.edu/career-design/events/calendar) for the link.

NOTE

  • If it is apparent that you have not used the resources shared by Career Design to create/update your resume, you will be emailed (copying in Jennifer Haines, Director of Field Experiences in the School of Education) and required to revise and resubmit.
  • If final submitted resume is still in need of updates, School of Education staff can request that you schedule another appointment with Career Design.
